On Monday 8th and Tuesday 09th September, 2014, we will be holding our Final Collaboratory in Manchester, UK. This will be the fourth collaboratory that we have held, having previously trialled the approach with three different practitioner groups: genomic scientists, national statisticians and practitioners working within the context of waste management. We have invited several participants from each practitioner group (genomics, national statistics and waste management) to join the project team in furthering our initial discussions on Socialising Big Data. This Final Collaboratory will reflect upon, and develop our findings, by discussing four themes that the project team have identified as cutting across the three contexts: metrics, economies, ethics and collaboratory. These themes will be canvassed in relation to their specific contexts and common policy implications. Our findings will be documented in a working paper and, eventually, in book form.
